CHAPTER:

Emeritus Chapter at Ramapo College, Spring 2005

Why did you decide to join MSU?

MSU stood out to me because of its diversity, history, and what they stand for. The Emeritus Chapter of MSU, although fairly small in comparison with other chapters, is very diverse with sisters of Puerto Rican, Dominican, Croatian, African American, Mexican, and Nigerian descent. MSU has a rich history in which it holds traditions created at its inception dear and celebrates them to this day such as stepping and strolling. It was also very appealing when I found out that all of the sisters worked hard to earn their place to be part of this organization. The three goals MSU stood for, promoting academic excellence, unity among all women, and to be active in the university and community, I practiced prior to becoming an interest or a sister.

What do you enjoy most about being a Mu?

The thing I enjoy most about being a Mu is having sisters and brothers of different upbringings and backgrounds, some from other states, some I've never even met face-to-face and yet I share this special bond with them.

Tell us a little about yourself (education, occupation, personal life, etc.)

I am Filipino and Chinese and was born in the Philippines. I moved to the states when I was six. I am currently a Junior at Ramapo College pursuing a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting with a minor in East Asian Studies. During the school year, I work as a resident assistant.
