Abrianeme Chapter, F.S., Spring 2001

Why did you decide to join MSU?

What first attracted me to MSU was the fact that they are multicultural. We have 5 founding mothers of the same descent, but they still envisioned the growth of an organization that would celebrate and meet the needs of women from different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Not only did these women acknowledge the need for uniting women no matter what their background was, but they were the first to establish a Greek letter organization on behalf of this effort.

I also saw MSU step and I was taken back by their ability to step well and carry themselves in a professional and sophisticated manner. I knew this was definitely something I wanted to be part of in the future.

What do you enjoy most about being a Mu?

I have enjoyed a variety of things MSU has to offer such as taking part in events, participating in community services and stepping in shows, but the most enjoyable thing about MSU for me has been starting a chapter and watching it grow. When I am upset about something, or mad at someone and need to vent, or even if I need to share exciting news, I know that I can turn to my sisters at my chapter and they are ALWAYS there for me. My chapter is truly my second family.
