BELLATRIX
CHAPTER
In order to honor the memory of our dearly departed sisters, Mu Sigma
Upsilon has created the Bellatrix Chapter.
Dear Lucy,
Hey Sweetheart, it’s has been years since we spoke face to face,
but somehow that doesn’t matter because you always have a way
of making your presence known to me not only in my time of need but
also in my time of joy. Do you remember the day we met? It’s funny
how we had an instant connection only to finally become sorority sisters.
You know you have always had that affect on people. They are just drawn
to you. I gotta remember to thank Lenny for introducing us. You know
Lucy we have been through a lot together and I don’t know what
I would have done if I didn’t have you by my side to keep me strong
and focused. I always wondered how you managed to do that. You always
have the strength to take on whatever comes your way and whatever came
in the way of those around you. I think that’s a special gift
that God gave to you. Yes, it has been awhile since we sat done and
just laughed at ourselves and all the drama we get ourselves into. But
I gotta be honest Sis, sometimes I just laugh and say to myself “Yeah
Lucy wasn’t that funny”. You know Lucy the organization
has changed so much over the years that I can’t even begin to
start. I think it’s turning into everything you said it would….
You always were able to see the whole picture and the long term goals.
I think that’s another one of your gifts. :-) There are a lot
of new sisters that we have yet to meet, but I’m sure you’ll
agree with me that when we do it will be like we known them forever.
Even though life is good now I really miss those days when we were together
24/7. You helped make me into the person I am today. You were the guiding
force I think to a lot of us at that time. You always keep it real,
say what you mean and mean what you say. You thought me the true meaning
of friendship. To this day, I haven't met anyone that is as dedicated
as you. You know Lucy I can’t remember if during all those long
late night talks we had if I ever thanked you for that. If I didn’t,
well thank you!!!!! Oh I spoke to Sharon the other day. I hope you were
able to make her dedication ceremony. I’m sorry I missed it, but
I know if one of us is there then in spirit we’re both there,
that’s just how we do (hee hee)…. You know Lucy you are
truly a beautiful person inside and out. Whenever I start to doubt myself
its like your voice comes inside my head and tell me I can do anything
if I just stay focused. Not to mention I don’t want to let you
down. Lucy I wish there was a way for everyone in the world to meet
you, because you are such a positive influence on everyone you come
into contact with. You are such an easy person to love and cherish.
But I think one of your best qualities is your integrity. You never
comprise your principles or who you are as a person for anything. I
admired that. We’ll as you know your godson is really getting
big. I show him your picture all the time since he hasn’t seen
you in so long, but trust me he knows exactly who you are and how important
you are to his Mommy… It’s funny because I keep a picture
of you on my desk and whenever someone ask who that is I just say “My
sister”, because that’s what we are, ‘”Sisters
for Life”…
I love & miss you,
Stacey

In memory of Lucy:
I am pretty sure that most of us (Mosiac Chapter) and everyone else
who knew Lucy will coincide with me. Lucy was a fighter, a friend, a
sister, and even a mother to some of us. In a way I am glad I wasn't
around when she died because now when I think of her I only remember
her smiling, being happy, just like I saw her last. I will always be
grateful for all the things I learned from her, for having a friend-sister
like her, for meeting someone like her. Lucy wherever you are, be sure
that we will love and remember you always.

I was one of the fortunate sisters who was blessed with the opportunity
of knowing Lucy DiPini personally. Lucy was a role model to latino ladies
everywhere. She was extremely dedicated, a leader at heart and a perfectionist.
She was one of the first Tiaras and her many contributions were critical
to establishing the Kean Chapter. More importantly, Lucy was a beautiful
person with a kind heart and a contagious smile.
